It's one thing hearing premonitions about how the digital age is encroaching on the medical practices of older docs. But it's another thing seeing the effects of it first-hand. My grandmother's doctor, whom she's been with for decades, says he is quitting because he's completely at a loss trying to keep up with the switch to digital records. Now she will have to find someone else.
Some older docs just can't handle this switch. I think some leniency towards their requirements would not be detrimental since the lenient period would only last until the current generation of older docs reaches retirement age.
